Share our passion for fascinating materials
Share our passion for fascinating materials. Copper and copper alloys can be found everywhere in modern industrial production. With their knowledge of the special characteristics of the materials used by us, our material scientists provide the basis for everything that we make possible today and will make possible tomorrow.
This requires a smart head on one’s shoulders and a huge amount of expert knowledge. Yours, for example! In addition to your technical qualifications, we are also interested in the things that are not normally found in a resume: Your personality.
Innovative developments require new impetus
Metal is more than just a material for you. With your detailed understanding of materials, alloys and the production of semi-finished products, you will be able to find compelling solutions even in an environment of increasing requirements regarding material characteristics.
Your knowledge and your ideas will find applications in our research and development, in technical marketing or in production. Independently or in a team, you will work on practice-oriented solutions for our customers and follow technological trends with an eye on future market requirements.
As a material scientist, you will find an inspiring research environment at Wieland combined with unique know-how encompassing copper, alloys, casting and forming processes.
With your detailed understanding of materials, you will be working on the new and further development of materials, alloys, surfaces, products and production processes.
Your knowledge and your ideas will find applications in practice-oriented, innovative solutions for our customers.
Activity areas
Help us shape the future
As a material scientist, you will most probably start out in our research, development and innovaton team in Vöhringen, near the foundry. You will benefit here from an inspiring research environment and a dedicated team comprising more than 100 scientists and colleagues who will be happy to share their unique knowledge of copper, alloys, casting and forming processes.
Our accredited testing and certification laboratory includes a spectrometer lab, a chemical-analytic lab, a metallography lab and additional labs that deliver up to 2,000 test results daily. This includes additional experimental fields – such as the testing of new materials under real conditions – and several patent applications per year.
- You will work on the new and further development of materials, semi-finished products, surfaces, special products and production processes.
- You will develop new alloys that enable the innovative use of copper and copper alloys.
- Your expertise is in demand by our production units, sales teams and our customers.
- You will play a significant role in ongoing quality assurance for our products.
Fields of study
Your expertise takes us further
